This week we began our practical task for media studies, we learned that we had to begin with a prelim task which required two individuals from our group to be recorded having a conversation however there were certain rules that we were not allowed to break, they were:
We planned our script according to the rules attempting to make sure no rules were broken, each group was set the task of creating a short video that did not break the three rules above, our group consisted of four people, each individual was set with a part of the video to solely focus on, Tyra (Captain) was mainly focusing on the editing of the video due to the fact she had the most experience with IMovie, Sohaib and Hafsah were the actor/actress for the prelim and I was set with the task of being the cameraman and director. Once the recording of the prelim task was completed we had difficulties with editing due to the fact that the lines had been changed whilst changing camera angles, this made it difficult to edit and for the video itself to be continuous however in the end we successfully edited the video although mistakes were visible, However both Mr Williamson and Mr Goddard reassured us that making mistakes in the prelim was normal and it helped us to really understand the main objective of the practical itself, it also helps us to recognize the mistakes made and for us to make sure we do not make the same mistakes in the main practical itself.
- breaking the 180 degree rule
- Making sure that match on action was shown
- To ensure that shot reverse shown was shown
